What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

The thing I’m most scared to do is end my life. Anyone who says anything else is lying or fooling themselves. As Shakespeare wrote “To be or not to be, that is the question.”

But the possibly scarier part, maybe no horrible fate, no unimaginable hellishness would get me to do it. That sounds like madness to me. Would I endure any amount of torture and suffering and still not end it all? Perhaps I am afflicted with extreme cowardice and fear. But so far I am still here, with no prospect of anything getting better. “conscience doth make cowards of us all”
